Infrastructural development in Greater Noida has got a lift from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) as it gave No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the construction of Greater Noida Heliport. According to the creative plan of the authority of Greater Noida, a heliport in the city became a necessity as many international projects simultaneously got green flagged such as Night Safari, World Trade Centre (WTC) and many Multi-National Corporations (MNC). Also, the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) of Delhi is 80 km far and heavy traffic makes this distance double. The location of this project is adjacent to Yamuna Expressway near Gautam Buddh University and Buddh international Circuit.
Deepak Aggarwal, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority (GNI) has expressed his happiness towards this NOC by AAI and the officials have already sent another application to obtain NOC from General of Civil Aviation (GVA). According to him, as soon as GNI receives approval from GVA, tenders will be opened for the developer entities. The planned heliport has been given an area of 15.5Ha and an amount of Rs.50 crores. The approval from GVA is expected to be received till July. The future Heliport will have the potential to depart 7 helicopters together providing helicopter services to cities such as Delhi, Haridwar, Jaipur, Agra etc.
