In a major development on land pooling policy, Delhi Govt. has agreed to clear LPP, provided they get 12%-15% of pooled land from DDA’s kitty. Prima Facie, this move appears encouraging, but it has wider implications, which might stretch the clearance of this already delayed policy. Cutting out a substantial 12-15% from DDA share of land, may trigger major changes to the operationalizational guidelines of this policy and to the Master Plan Delhi 2021.
Delhi Smart Cities awaits response from DDA to assess the situation further, and meanwhile hopes LPP isn’t delayed any longer. We request Delhi Govt. & DDA to sort out this issue amicably, so that affordable housing meets its target of year 2021 in Delhi. We also hope Delhi Govt. won’t stop responding to mails from DDA and other stakeholders, after its demand is met, something which they did earlier after securing Gram Sabha land. Our objective is simple, to whosoever concerned, please implement Land Pooling Policy ASAP.
