The Delhi administration keenly focuses on spots. When it comes to DDA, it comes with a motto to provide the convenient sports infrastructure or facility in Delhi. Hence, DDA approves 7 sites located in Narela, Dwarka, and Rohini. It is significant to know that the four complexes are located in Dwarka. The decision is taken at the meeting headed by Anil Baijal who is a Lieutenant Governor at Raj Niwas.
There are 7 sites chosen for developing the sports complexes that includes Narela Sector A-7 (7.27 ha), Rohini Sector-33 (8.90 ha), Rohini Sector-34 (22.25 ha), Phase II (8.00 ha), Dwarka Sector-23, Phase-I (8.00 ha), Dwarka Sector-19, Dwarka Sector-17 (8.00 ha), and Dwarka Sector-8 (9.78 ha).
The good news for sports lovers is that these sports complex soon will have the facilities for hockey and football, as well as cricket. The overall infrastructure of these complexes will have also jogging track/athletics track, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, multigym, skating rink and other facilities ideal for different sports.
In addition, Delhi Development Authority is offering pitch to rural youth along with the expansion of boxing, kabaddi, archery, athletics, shooting, weightlifting, wrestling and shooting sports complexes.
The official of Delhi Development Authority told that “Lands that are not developed for the intended purpose because of the site contains can be identified for the development of recreation/sports facilities such as yoga sheds, jogging tracks that will allow people utilization and upgrade the regions and also prevent encroachment”.
DDA is giving 10% in the coaching contracts for the budding sportsperson or enthusiastic from the EWS category. “The policy is actually amended for the coaching for training lots of trainees in the category and Delhi Development Authority will pay coaches to share of the fees for extra trainees. Delhi Development Authority will give kit for EWS trainees,” told by the official.
Detailing more on the updated sports scheme for Delhi youth, all official said conveniences at every sports complex of DDA during the non-peak time is used to conduct any school-level tournaments/competitions in different sports activities.
The Delhi Development Authority said in the statement that “The DDA will approach the SAI (Sports Authority of India) for the usage of sports infrastructure of DDA for organizing international, regional and national level championships/tournaments. Facility for a specific sports discipline is identified at every DDA sports complex for making the complexes centers for superiority in the sports. Sports Authority of India is consulted to give coaches for undertaking better coaching at the sports complexes”.
