The fundamental requirements of people in today’s world are the house to stay in, almost the majority of the people in India have this dream. To resolve this problem Government has taken the initiative and had introduced the new project called Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This scheme was launched on 25th June 2015 with a seven-year target and objective of building two crore affordable houses for residents.
Advantage of Awas Yojana Scheme:
- Subsidy – Along with these projects, people will be granted a subsidy from LIG or EWS segments. Delhi Housing Scheme provides houses at an affordable and subsidizes deal to the buyers. A subsidy can be used only for the purpose of possessing a home that is under this scheme.
- Preference for Females and Government employees – In this case of accommodation and possession of houses, the woman and the Government employees get more preference than other peoples. The scheme cover 18 percentage is reserved for the women and the government employees. The Awas Yojana gives more priority to the women applicant.
- Eco-friendly – Under this scheme, the houses which will be constructed or developed will be built in an eco-friendly way. This is the best thing about this project that it does not hamper the environment. This project was introduced with the intention of protecting the environment. Delhi Housing Society is one of the plans that cover this Eco-friendly construction.
- Development of Slum areas – The main motive of this scheme was to develop the slum areas. Land Pooling Policy Delhi was introduced in this regard to collect land by the private sectors from the landowner. The private sectors make specific infrastructural development, and then the land was returned to the owner.
There are many more benefits that are covered under this Awas Yojana scheme. This scheme has been introduced to provide people with a better future with world-class accommodation. The Government has till now made significant development and is continuing to make more development until 2021. Under this plan, there are many schemes for different cities like in Delhi, and it has a project called Delhi master plan 2021. The Delhi Master Plan is designed under the PPP Model and was approved by the urban development minister.
The Delhi development was started with an objective to provide housing facility to the resident of Delhi, and it has almost made much development as nearly 70 percent of units are reserved by the Government and the public sector unit employees.
