Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation stone of IICC (India International Convention and Expo Center) on Today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that facilities are going to available in the convention center will be the best in the world in both quality and size. This world-class conventional center also comes along with settings for both national and international events, conferences, meetings, trade shows, and exhibitions.
IICC will rank among the top ten convention centers in the world as well as the biggest indoor exhibition space in the nation. Additionally, it is expected that the project will generate more than 5 lakhs employment opportunities.
The project is planning for the estimated cost of Rs. 25,703 crore, which covers a total land area of 221.37 acres in Dwarka sector 25. Indian Convention and Exhibition Centre Ltd will implement this project.
It is a 100% government-owned company set up by DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion).
The main purpose of this mega exhibition and convention center. The commencement of this mega exhibition and convention center has not happened with ease because it has faced eight years struggles for several reasons. The major and important driving factors behind this big project is to promote the schemes such as Make in India, trade and commerce, tourism, business tourism, exports, and so on.
The govt of India expects this convention center; Dwarka will generate at least 100 large domestic and international events annually. It also expects to receive more than 10 million visitors annually by 2019-20 and then 23 million after the project the second phase completely by 2025.
